Automatically add an event to Google Calendar when you click a Zoom link in Slack.
This app is experimental. It is still in testing, and has not yet completed the Google app review process. Until Google completes their review, there are two main limitations:
1. There is cap on the amount of concurrent users. So the extension may stop doing anything, at any time, depending on how many other users are also using the extension at that time.
2. After you authorize the app with your Google account, this authorization will not persist very long. Google will continue prompting you authorize the app.
Both of these things are controlled by Google, not by the extension. This message will be removed from this description when after Google completes their review process.
When you click a zoom link (url or button) in the Slack web app, this extension will automatically attempt to create an event on your Google Calendar.
Each event added to the calendar has a description with a link to the conversation in slack. Reference this link for context of what the meeting was about. Anyone with access to your calendar will also be able to see this link, however they will not be able to follow the link and view the slack conversation unless their slack user also has access to the conversation in question.
This initial version of the extension does not support:
- Changing Google accounts. When installing the extension, you will be prompted to authorize a Google account for access to your calendar. If you have multiple Google accounts, be sure to authorize the correct account, because it cannot be changed (however a future update may add support for this).
- Meeting duration. This version of the extension does not have visibility to each meeting's duration. Instead each event added to the calendar will show a duration of 10 minutes (however, support for this is planned for a future update).
