Force YouTube to play videos in HTML5.
Works great at getting HTML5 goodness into YouTube.
You can set the maximum resolution of the video to use (360 or 720p or 1080p).
This is a port of YouTube5 2.1 for Safari (released last week). Includes its own player so it doesn't have to use Chrome's crappy one.
There are a few differences:
Chrome's webkit doesn't let you (easily) make html5 videos fullscreen (Safari's does), so the "fullscreen" button on the video player makes the video "fullwindow" instead. If you shift-click the full-window button, your window (should) get automatically resized to fill your screen.
The extension should work for embedded youtube videos on other sites, the "fullwindow" mode does not.
Should be working much more reliably and consistently then the last version, but it still might be buggy. To help deal with this, there's a YouTube5 button in your toolbar that lets you easily enable/disable YT5 (the button is colored when enabled, and gray when disabled).
Not sure why, but the extension works much better with Chrome's built-in click-to-play plugins feature turned off (which is the default setting, so if you haven't turned click-to-flash on you don't have to worry about it).
Any feedback about the UI, bugginess, compatibility etc. would be great. Please include with any feedback:
what OS you're using (and version)
what version of Chrome you're using
specific URLs to videos/sites where you had trouble.

UPDATE 12/9/10: Should work again on YouTube.com. YouTube changed some of its internal urls and I had to update the extension to match.
