Backup and sync your bookmarks and open tabs across computers and browsers. Xmarks is also available for Firefox, Safari and IE.
Xmarks is the #1 bookmarking add-on. Xmarks synchronizes across multiple computers, and across web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. After you install the add-on, click on the Xmarks icon to start backing up and synchronizing your bookmarks.
Xmarks also synchronizes your open tabs across computers and browsers! Learn more about tab sync here http://blog.xmarks.com/?p=1623 and for password management see http://lastpass.com/
INSTALLATION PERMISSIONS: When installing Xmarks for Chrome, the extension will ask for several different permissions. Each of the permission items is required for an optional sync feature; bookmarks for bookmark sync, "browsing history" for open tab sync, and "website data" for password sync. Any of these features can be disabled in the Xmarks settings if you'd prefer to keep that information local. For details on exactly how we use each permission, check out the installation notes here: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/XmarksForChrome#Installation_notes
Note: Xmarks for Chrome does not support the Chromium-based "Flock" browser. DO NOT install on Flock, as the Flock browser does not currently support standard Chrome bookmarks and bookmark folders and instead uses a tag-based system called "Favorites".
