Render any code between [; and ;] into LaTeX images.
This is the original script written by Avital Oliver at http://thewe.net/tex and edited by me to work under Chromium and Chrome.
Fixes (ver 1.3.2)
- Fixed a typo that makes the extension incompatible with reddit.com. Thanks to James.
Past Fixes (ver 1.3.1)
- Faster image rendering.
- Memory usage improvement.
- GMail strange behavior.
- It doesn't work under this page (not a bug, actually).
The GMail strange behavior is that the other side *will* need the extension in order to see actual images, and, sometimes, when the string is too long, the code is not rendered. I have no idea why - if someone do know, please, let me know.
TODO: Add new render options, like $$...$$ or even \[...\].
ABOUT PRIVACY: The extension needs access to all data (in the current page, only) in order to scan TEXT data. Although this seems unrestricted, the extension only sends TEXTDATA between [; and ;], because the site responsible for rendering equations is at www.codecogs.com/gif.latex? - the site renders the equation and the extension puts it where the text was. There are no violation of privacy in terms of sending unwanted data, only the data that you want. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or via email.
