A clock with two configurable alarms that will play a sound and speak a phrase of your choice.
Need to wake up in the morning? Don't want to miss the bus? Want to make sure you check the oven when it's done?
This extension gives you a handy and fun alarm clock that's at your fingertips whenever you're running Chrome!
Two separate alarms, with handy controls to adjust by 5-minute intervals - or type any exact time with 1-minute precision.
8 alarm sounds to choose from, including an analog alarm clock, digital alarm clock, cuckoo clock, nature sounds, music, and more!
This alarm not only plays a sound, it talks! Using Chrome's new built-in text-to-speech (TTS) capability for extensions and apps, this app will speak the current time along with the phrase of your choice. You can install additional voices from the Chrome web store - just search for TTS.
Everything is accessed from the Talking Alarm Clock browser action in your toolbar. When the clock is in bright color, it means an alarm is set. When it's gray and dim, it means no alarm is currently set.
To test what the alarm will sound like when it goes off, click on the large clock while the alarm is open.
WARNING: alarm will not sound if you completely exit Chrome! It is designed to continue to function even if you close all windows, but if you don't want to miss that important event and want to be sure, keep a Chrome window open so you can double-check that the alarm is still set!
Currently only supports US English with 12-hour (AM / PM) time.
This extension is open-source. You can find the code and developer info at http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions/trunk/samples.html#chrome.tts
2011-11-03: Updated to fix compatibility issue with Chrome 16 and higher.
