Detect & Block Sensitive Data like PII, PHI, PCI
Strac Chrome Extension is a DLP (Data Loss Prevention) solution. It is an AI Copilot that will prevent you from accidentally sending sensitive data on websites like ChatGPT, Google Bard.
Strac DLP has 2 modes:
1. Redact Mode: It discovers (aka detects or classifies) sensitive messages and redacts (aka masks) sensitive messages and submit redacted message to the third party server.
2. Block Mode: It discovers (aka detects or classifies) sensitive messages and blocks input containing sensitive messages.
Sensitive messages could contain PII, PCI, PHI or any sensitive data. The purpose of the extension is to prevent accidental sharing of sensitive information during web browsing, such as during a conversation with ChatGPT or during a social media exchange.
Strac (Y Combinator backed) helps you comply with PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, and privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA.
Our mission is to help keep user's online experience secure and private. This extension is designed to detect and block sensitive or confidential data submitted by users on websites like ChatGPT, Google Bard, etc.
How does it work?
Here’s a quick overview:
1. Data Detection: We identify sensitive data like PII/PHI/PCI data being send to 3rd party websites. Full catalog of sensitive data is here: https://www.strac.io/blog/strac-catalog-of-sensitive-data-elements
2. Depending on the configuration, Strac will either:
a) Data Redaction: If Strac finds sensitive data submitted by users. Strac will redact (or mask) the sensitive data from chat message and submit the redacted message to 3rd party server.
b) Data Blocking: If Strac finds sensitive data submitted by users. Strac will block and give the option to users whether they would like to still go ahead and submit it OR remove sensitive data from chat message.
