Overview
Simme is an easy to use online engineering tool to quickly model, simulate and analyze the dynamics of mechatronic systems.
Simme is aiming to be an easy to use online tool for mechatronic system designers to quickly model, simulate and analyze the dynamic behaviour of mechatronic systems, early in the design phase. The constructed mechatronic system model consists of a Mechanics model and, optionally, a Controls model to control the motion of the Mechanics. The structural Mechanics model is a linear rigid body mass-spring-damper model, with up to 6 degrees of freedom per body, constructed from Body and Joint components. The Mechanics can be excited by Force Actuators and/or Motion Actuators. Motion Sensor components can be applied to measure the relative motion between Body and/or Motion Actuator components. Force Sensors measure the force or torque transmitted by Joint components. To control the motion of one or more degrees of freedom of the Mechanics, controller(s) can be designed. The Controllers are linear and feature both feedback and feed forward control. To excite the model during time simulation, signals can be defined. For every actuator and sensor axis, disturbance signals can be constructed. For every control axis, a Set point signal. Simme provides the option to analyze the model in the time domain as well as the frequency domain. Time response plots and Bode plots can be created for both the Mechanics model and the motion controlled model. Finally, the definition, the state space representation and the simulation results of the created model can be downloaded in MATLAB data format.
