Know where you're going! Expand short URLs and clean/remove 'utm' tracking information. Based on Tactical URL Expander
Short links (from services like bit.ly, is.gd, and even Twitter's own t.co) can cause many problems. They hide the final destination of the link, so you never know where you're going, and some more conservative networks can block access to them completely.
Rather than leave you blind as to where you're going, this extension uses longurl.org to expand all links before you click on them. It also expands the text of the link (if the text matches the URL) so you don't have to hover over the link to see the actual location.
As well as that, this extension also strips out all "utm_" tracking parameters from shortened links. This is partly to stop the replaced URL being too long, but mainly for privacy to remove the tracking information that these extra parameters provide.
This extension is based on the Tactical URL Expander and is released under a dual-MIT/GPLv2 license. The code is available at https://github.com/IBBoard/IBBoard-URL-Expander
