Redirects the current Salesforce page via a keystroke to the page whose SFID is in your clipboard
If you often migrate record of data into and out of the Salesforce database, then you know that sometimes you need to copy a Salesforce ID from an external program like Excel, and paste it directly onto the end of a Salesforce URL in the Chrome omnibox, in order to visit that IDs web page.
Usually, you use your mouse to select the portion of the URL that comes after "..../salesforce.com/", then paste over this portion. This mouse selection gets tedious when repeated over and over.
Salesforce Id Paster allows you to perform this paste using a keyboard shortcut. The default is Ctl-Shift-Y but you can set it to any key you want at chrome://extensions, by clicking the 'keyboard shortcuts' button at the screen's bottom right.
Salesforce Id Paster works invisibly, taking you to the web page of your pasted ID directly without any UI or sound. It *only* works if your current web page has "salesforce.com" as part of its URL. Otherwise it does nothing.
Salesforce Id Paster will paste *any* clipboard contents onto the end of "...salesforce.com", so use it carefully or you'll arrive at a Salesforce error message page. For example, if the pasted ID refers to a different instance of Salesforce than the one you are logged into, you'll arrive at an error message page.
Hope you find this tiny extension helpful!
