SafeToOpen browser extension notifies you when visiting phishing or insecure websites.
Winning never-ending phishing battles is impossible without carefully analyzing the content of the sites. SafeToOpen browser extension works like an information security expert sitting next to you analyzing the content of the page you are visiting and notifies you when it detects suspicious content.
SafeToOpen only analyses websites that require users to enter their sensitive information such as password, online banking and personal information (PCI/PII). It does not analyze websites that their domain names are in the list of top 100,000 known domains. For example, SafeToOpen will NOT analyse websites such as facebook.com, or twitter.com, or linkedin.com.
Please note that we do not collect any of your browsing activities unless our extension detects a suspicious website. Once detected, the extension sends us the following information:
- Your public IP address
- Your web browser name and version
- Your Operating System name and version
- Suspicious URL (we use the URL for in-depth analysis)
- Your unique customer ID (if available)
- Number of words in the suspicious site
* Please note that we may collect more information if your organization uses managed Chrome browser with certain defined policy.
** Please note that we mask the suspicious URLs after a comprehensive analysis and only keep the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) visible.
