Overview

Uses HTML5 to display PDF files directly in the browser.

PDF.js is a Portable Document Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5. PDF.js is community-driven and supported by Mozilla Labs. Our goal is to create a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs. This extension provides PDF.js as the default PDF viewer in Chrome. If you want to use this viewer to view local files, visit chrome://extensions/?id=oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm and put a check before "Allow access to file URLs". Please report any issues at https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues Don't have a Github account? I also accept feedback at rob@robwu.nl Known issue: PDF files generated via a form (POST request) cannot be viewed. I started using this because I saw that this PDF Viewer remembers where you left off when reading a PDF. It works great, and can be easily set as the default PDF Viewer on a Chromebook. Highly recommend!

I downloaded this on my 2022 macBook, because the standard viewer that comes with chrome would not download files. I can't figure out how to get chrome to use it when there is a pdf to be viewed. When selecting the extension, it brings up the viewer with a sample PDF which can be downloaded, but how to use it to open up URL's??
