requires sign up with email, and then when requesting a modest amount of tex to be read, it says "Please purchase additional pay as you go characters or a subscription through our iOS app - Out Loud Companion." No thank you. Removing from my Chrome.

Hi Keith. Yes, this is a paid service, however we do offer multiple free trials through our iOS app and in the coming days users will be able to take advantage of another free offer through our Amazon Alexa Skill. Hopefully you can give us a try another time. We charge for our service because we are interested in providing only the most realistic voices possible. It is this feature that ultimately helps people write and communicate better as opposed to more "computery" and artificial sounding voices and so we are aggressively leaning toward higher quality rather than quantity.
