Returns YouTube dislikes for all videos, powered by archived data and machine learning.
Open YouTube Dislikes is an open-source extension that restores YouTube dislike functionality and puts you back in charge. It returns dislike counts as well as the ability to actually dislike videos that you do not like.
YouTube recently decided to remove dislike counts from all videos, effectively leaving users without any clue as to whether or not a video contains good information, bad information, or straight up misinformation. At worst this results in propaganda, fake news, or misinformation being spread and at best it results in a lot of time wasted.
By crowdsourcing like/dislike data, bringing archived data to life, and estimating dislikes for unknown videos via machine learning. The more data we gather, the better estimates the machine learning model will yield.
The entire project (the extension itself and accompanying backend) is open-source and can be found here: https://github.com/dkgv/open-youtube-dislikes
