This extension adds a menu item allowing you to "Open Frame in New Tab"! With a snazzy icon to boot!
Aww... did Chrome remove all happiness in your life when they axed the "Open Frame in New Tab" menu item? Well, no worries, this extension adds it back for you! With a snazzy icon to boot!
This extension adds a menu item called "Open Frame in New Tab" that shows up when right-clicking on a frame or an iframe.
Admittedly this extension isn't complicated. If you experience problems, they are likely due to:
a) An old or experimental release of Chrome
b) An interfering extension
THIS EXTENSION WAS CREATED BECAUSE
- Chrome 10 removed this vital option
- The only alternative extension has prioritized opening the frame in the CURRENT tab, and has a few bugs
WHY THE SNAZZY ICON?
Chrome extensions must show an icon. It was either this, or the default puzzle-piece :P
WHY ONLY ONE MENU ITEM?
Chrome extensions are only allowed one menu item in the main context menu. I could have multiple in a sub-menu, but to me, that extra click isn't worth it. Here are the menu items I left out that appeared in Chrome 9:
- Open Frame in New Window
- Open Frame in New Incognito Window
