Simple extension helping us control ourselves with opening too many tabs.
This is not another extension created for browser performance reason. Purpose of this extension is to restrict ourselves with opening too many tabs which is very bad habit. If you have 15-30-more cards opened on daily basis, it's too much and I recommend using less.
WARNING! Using this extension may be very iritating at the beginning, as breaking any bad habit is not easy. Here is my recommendation how to use this tool:
1. set initial values for "max amount of allowed tabs" in "options" of extension to some reasonable value (for instance one more than current amount of your open tabs)
2. every hour try to get rid of some of opened tabs by just reading them or closing if you decide they are useless
3. once again set "max amount of allowed tabs" to smaller values.
4. do it as long as you have more than few (2-5) tabs opened. You don't need more tabs to be effectively using the internet. Ideally you would use it in one card - just without switching context, and ending one thing before for instance chceking email, but 3 card are still OK.
Why it's very bad to use many tabs?
It's widely believed and also scientifically proved that navigation through web using "open in new card" can have very detrimental effects on one's brain and memory.
Of course there is nothing wrong in using feature of "cards" in browsers, the problem is when we exaggerate with this behavour. Then it's very hard to break this habit. Allowing ourselves to do it we are weakening our memory and we are getting bigger and bigger problems with focusing on different things. We no longer can read long block of text and what's even worse we have very little understanding of text we read.
For more information I recommend great book on this subject:
