fix middle click behavior for a lot of pages (also ctrl+left)
if you know a page where middle (or ctrl+left) clicking a link doesn't have the desired effect of leaving the current tab unchanged and opening a new one, this extension will most likely help you.
if it doesn't fix your problem or if it even breaks pages that worked for you before, please inform me and i will analyze what's going on. but don't worry, this is not likely and you can at any time remove this extension and everything will be as it was before.
* color middle clicked links to help analyzing bugs
* don't work for ctrl+left
* the options page also holds some examples to observe the bad behavior
why does it ask for access to your data? http://tinyurl.com/crpermiss.
any feedback is greatly appreciated, please inform me about any bug however small or what ever you find worth mentioning. thanks.
my problem started with mail.yahoo.com, clicking the middle button on my emails wouldn't open them in new tabs like i was used to from other browsers, but would open them in the current tab instead.
i started reading about this and found that lots of pages are affected, a publicly accessible example with the above behavior are the hardware item names on http://tinyurl.com/applehardware.
there is another version of this problem, this time a new tab is opened, but the new page is also loaded in the current tab, you can observe that e.g. by middle-clicking the recipes on http://tinyurl.com/elderrec.
problems like these also exist on lots of forum pages and pages with list-like content (see options page).
there is a chromium bug report about it here: http://crbug.com/255, but they seem to be unsure if this is chrome's fault or the pages', nothing has been done, but some page authors started adapting their pages to chrome's behavior.
