A Chrome extension to add tags to bookmarks and create a bookmark management system in the new tab screen
I wrote this extension to add tagging for chrome bookmarks. There is no native tag capability in Chrome so I've designed this extension to work alongside the existing bookmarking system. All of chrome's bookmark management tools will work as they do currently in addition to the new features in the extension.
After installation you'll see a small icon next to the address bar that looks like a few tags on a ring. Clicking on that icon when surfing the web will allow you to add a bookmark with tags instead of using the star. (Which is still available. Chrome doesn't let me change the star behavior so I can't add to it directly.)
Your new tab page will be replaced by a bookmark management screen with quick launch links of sites frequently typed in but not bookmarked. The new tab page is where you can add, edit, or delete tags and bookmarks. Additionally, you can filter by tags or folders to find your bookmarks. (Or favorites if you are coming from IE)
I'm posting things like a changelog to the site for the extension at LeTags.com and that is where you can contact me for feedback if you would like. The chrome webstore doesn't have a direct feedback system so I can't write to you based on feedback here.
