Overview
Keep your kiosk from going to sleep, however allow the screen to be managed via the kiosk app.
Run this on a Chrome Box running as a Kiosk and it will keep the "system" awake but does not manage the display. Now, you can manage display on/off within your Kiosk app, however the system will always stay on, thus allowing you to put your kiosk app on a schedule for night time on the schedule of your choice.

UPDATE: It does open, it just opens from the desktop and does not switch to it when you click it. Its on the desktop after you "PIN IT" to the shelf.
