Pixel graphics editor for Pixel artists
JSPixely is a graphics editor tailor made to create pixel art for game sprites, icons or just plain pixel art. All icons used in the JSPixely GUI (except the Google Drive™ icon) were created with JSPixely.
It works offline as well so you can get your art on in places without internet access.
The optional Google Drive integration allows you to backup your pictures to the cloud and if you install the Google Drive desktop app, to your harddrive as well. Google Drive sync is deactivated by default but you can enable/disable it with one click on the Google Drive icon in the toolbar.
Other than most graphics editors for the web, JSPixely is written using cutting edge HTML5 technologies and doesn’t need the Flash plugin to work.
Although it is being developed mainly for Google Chrome, JSPixely also works in recent versions of Firefox, Safari and Opera.
And this is just the beginning... You can check out a long list of planned features right from within JSPixely.
The beta tag is mainly targeted at the Google Drive integration. Google Drive is very new, so this is an experimental feature right now. The graphics editor itself is pretty robust already but not optimized for speed yet (opening pictures bigger than 200x200 pixels can take a few seconds). I however strongly suggest to save often and turn on Google Drive sync so that you have a backup of your pictures available if something bad happens or if you empty your browser’s application cache by mistake and thereby lose all pictures you haven’t exported to your harddrive manually or synced with Drive.
