Overview
Simple controller for Philips Hue Lights
** This app no longer works and is no longer being maintained. ** This app was written in 2017 and Philips deprecated their API mid-2020 with no plans to replace it. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that, so this no longer works. The app reports "No internet connection" because the Philips Hue API UPnP service (which finds your Hue Bridge on your network) now just gives a 404 not found. Since this is the only thing an internet connection is needed for, it gives that slightly misleading error message. So RIP free options for people :( ======================= Allows you to control Philips Hue Lights by picking colours from colour wheels. Simply click on the colour wheel, and the light will be set to that colour. You can also easily change the brightness of the light - simply scroll the mousewheel or trackpad over the colour wheel. No mousewheel? Just double-click the colour wheel or click the lightbulb icon on the bottom toolbar to change between colour mode and brightness mode. Toggle lights on or off with the power button. Also on the bottom toolbar you can access the animations panel. Here you can queue up a series of colour settings with a delay in between. On the top toolbar, you can change the colour wheel mode between hue-saturation, colour temperature, or photo. In photo mode, you can import an image from your device, pick a pixel from it, and the colour of the light will be set to match. Problems connecting? You can manage the Hue settings by clicking the gear icon - you can manually set the Hue Bridge's IP address, username, and light/room to be controlled. Hey. I like the idea. The app is simple and very useful as i use a chromebook for my room and i can easily control all my Philips lights. I faced one problem though. I can't figure out for the life of me how to switch between the lights. I was able to connect to the bridge fine and i can control one of the lights in my room and it works good. I just can't figure out how tos witch between lights. Any help would be appreciated and will definitely bring the rating up to 5 star :) Thanks OP!
