Overview

Petri is my take on John Conway’s Game of Life. Petri runs offline and is free! Please enjoy and share with your friends!

What self-respecting software developer hasn't built John Conway’s Game of Life? Click cells to toggle their life, click live (upper left) and see the rules of the universe play out. The universe’s rules are simple: 1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies, as if caused by under-population. 2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbors lives on to the next generation. 3. Any live cell with more than three neighbors dies, as if by overcrowding. 4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

It is a good simulation, but there are some glitches within the game itself. For example, if you try to put 4 cells in a cross pattern but without the center, it will stay like that. However when you add a cell in one of the corners and remove the cell, the cell will come back but it shouldn't come back.
