I knew full well that I archived my youtube subscription list, but couldn't figure out why this extension failed anyway. Turns out I had another extension called "YouTube Subscriptions Exporter Extension" installed as well. It's icon is a large yellow "Y". As of writing this the author of the working extension notes a "bug" in that only 1000 subscriptions can be downloaded. He says that he's working on a fix.
