Dim your Chrome, to save energy / save the planet, or just to stop nosy colleagues / bosses from being nosy!
NOTE (10 Mar 2010): as one user pointed out, black pixels on LCD screen don't actually consume less power than non-black ones, unlike those on CRT screens or the new LED screens. See http://blogs.msdn.com/dthorpe/archive/2007/08/03/black-pixels-cost-less.aspx
A Chrome extension to dim down your Chrome pages after a specific amount of idle time (no mouse movement on the page), to save energy / save the planet, or just to stop nosy colleagues / bosses from being nosy! Simply move the mouse inside the page to undim the page. As a couple of users have pointed out, this is especially useful for users with DUAL SCREENS.
Click on the extension icon to activate / deactivate the extension.
Right-click on the extension icon to access the "options" page to change the settings. Default settings are: after 5 minutes by 80%
Note that pages opened PRIOR TO INSTALLATION WILL NOT be dimmed.
And of course, it would not dim the Chrome "new tab" page, as the "new tab" page is not really a webpage!

Any comments, feedback, bug reports are very much welcomed!
P.S. OK, this extension may not actually stop global warming, but it may just stop those annoying colleagues...
