We’ve all got big goals, and as the days roll on by it seems like there’s never enough time in the day to do everything we need to do to achieve them. Time is the most precious commodity we have, and it’s easy to miss all the time we spend digging out the same information over and over, using up minutes, even hours, that we could have spent doing something more productive.
Fortunately, we’ve got a solution for that.
Tray is a small, simple application designed to give you back huge chunks of your day. All those little pieces of information you keep having to retrieve over and over, like your bank info, or your new zip code, or the answer to that frequently asked question your business always gets?
Now, those little pieces of info have a home.
==Store Your Responses==
Have you ever found yourself fumbling for a scrap of paper with your friend’s address written on it for the third or fourth time? Can’t remember a new zip code for the life of you, or find yourself making the same responses in business emails over and over?
You don’t need to e-mail Debbie in Accounting the instructions for using the document scanner (again) or repeat the attendance policy of your 3PM College Algebra class to another forgetful student.
What you need is a shortcut. A canned response.
Fortunately, that’s what our Chrome extension, Tray Canned Responses, is built for. All you have to do is install the extension, and you’ll see a little blue button pop up in your Chrome toolbar. Click on it, and you’ll see that you’ve now been granted the ability to add canned responses (canned replies) into the extension’s tray.
Use it for anything you need to remember. Never can remember your best friend’s address even though you send her care packages all the time? Store it in the tray. Use the tray to hold pricing tables, contact info, addresses, and anything else you find yourself needing to copy+paste on a frequent basis.
Are you a freelance artist, writer, or coder who needs to quickly access job proposals? No problem. Tray Canned Responses doesn’t just store simple text. You’ll be granted access to a full text editor, with the ability to preformat your canned responses and even add images and video! Create your response in any font and any color, with headings, links, anything you could possibly want - and then it’s simply there for you to use, any time you need it. Spend time getting the formatting just right, and then never worry about it again!
Want to use Tray for a business application, like storing all of your customer service responses? Use our handy Import/Export feature, creating a list of your canned responses in .xslx format, and importing it directly into the extension.
This also works both ways. Export your responses and canned replies in to an .xslx file, and back them up for future use!

Once your responses are stored, the hard part is over.
Clicking on the round blue Tray Canned Responses icon in your Google Chrome toolbar will pop the tray down from the toolbar, revealing your responses. Then, all you have to do is click “copy”, and you’ll be able to paste your response anywhere!
You can also choose to click the drop-down arrow next to “copy” and select “Plain Copy” if you need your canned response without the formatting, and you can also easily edit and even delete responses from this menu.
After adding your responses or canned replies, the next step is organizing. Responses in the tray can be easily organized via drag-and-drop, making it simple to keep your most-used responses at your fingertips.
With Tray’s free version, you’ll receive 10 canned response slots. This may be plenty for anyone just aiming for personal use, but if you think you’ll need more than that, you can give Tray’s affordable yearly membership a try, and get unlimited response slots.
This feature is especially useful if you plan on using Tray for business, and have, for example, a list of customer service responses at the ready, answers to frequently asked questions, emails you would like to send, or a list of detailed proposals. Remember - the more slots you have in Tray, the less things you have to remember off the top of your head.
Once you’ve got all your responses and canned organized the way you like, then Tray will have your responses and canned replies ready for you in just one click! When you need the info, simply pop the tray out by clicking the icon, then grab the info you need by clicking on the “copy” button. Then, just paste anywhere you like: online forms, emails, forums, and social media are all fair game.
All of that info in one place will save you more time than you realize. There will be no more hunting down errant addresses, or spending time typing out things you’ve typed out a million times before. Instead, it’s just click and go!

It all depends on what you use it for. What are the limits on the free version?
The free version of Tray comes with ten response slots, and they’re free forever, meaning that you can use them for as long as you like. We’re not going to limit your time with the app, because we truly endeavored to create something useful, and we want to be able to share that with you.
Is Tray available on other platforms?
Right now, Tray is only available as a Google Chrome extension.
Who created this app, and why?
Hi there! We’re the team behind Poptin, Prospero and Premio. We created this app as a productivity tool for ourselves when we noticed we spent a lot of time looking up information multiple times and wanted to keep it all in one place!
Tray has a few special features that are coming soon! We love Tray as it is, but we’re always looking for room to improve, and we’ve got some ideas we think you’re gonna love.
First of all, not only does Tray store all of your canned responses in one place on your computer, but coming soon will be the ability to do this on all your computers. In the near future you’ll be able to activate the option to store all of your canned replies and responses in the cloud, so you’ll have access to them across a myriad of devices. Small businesses, rejoice, because you’ll be able to share your Tray information with all your employees!
The second upcoming special feature is our right click feature. Since we’re always on the lookout for ways to save you time, we’re working on adding the ability for you to right click in any field - let’s say, a blank e-mail - and automatically paste your saved responses from the right click menu. That way, you won’t even have to open the tray from the Chrome toolbar! This feature will work anywhere you can enter information online, so it will work with e-mail, but it will also work with online forms, social media, and more!
