Free Grammar Activities
Quill provides 10-15 minute exercises that help students build sentence construction skills. Quill automatically grades the writing and provides feedback and hints to help students improve it. The immediate feedback enables students to quickly build their skills, and it saves teachers dozens of hours spent on grading. Some of our most popular activities include comma usage, capitalization, verb tense agreement, and commonly confused words.

I use this weekly in my 7th grade class for bellwork. We LOVE it. Students see sentences, and they have to type them again and add something (like a comma, correct conjunction, or quotation marks). Quill is very picky about everything being typed precisely (capital letters, no extra spaces, period at the end), which is a great skill for students to remember. It's easy for me to grade, it reinforces skills they need, and the students seem to like it.
