Overview

Override the default new tab page with blank page.

This extension prevents "Google search" page from showing up when you open a new tab. You can also disable the "Sign in to Chrome" page that is shown when you open a new Chrome window, just go to "chrome://settings" page, choose "Open a specific page or set of pages" and enter "chrome://newtab".

I have specifically enjoyed this extension because it used to force my new tab to be a bright white, which I use as backlighting when I'm on a video call to help illuminate my face on calls. Now it's always a dark tab since I have dark mode enabled, so now I need to go to Wikipedia or whatever bright white site I can find to act as my backlight. There should be an _option_ to toggle between ['Light Mode', 'Dark Mode', 'System Default']. It shouldn't be forced.
